Modern laser tattoo removal technology can successfully treat a wide range of tattoo colours, although some colours respond more quickly than others. The colours that can usually be treated include: Black Dark blue Navy blue Grey Brown Red Orange Purple Green Light blue (in many cases) Yellow (may be more challenging) White (may be more challenging) Black ink is typically the easiest to remove because it absorbs laser energy most effectively. Dark blue and grey tattoos also tend to respond very well to treatment. Brighter colours such as green, turquoise, light blue, purple and red can also be treated using the appropriate laser wavelength, although they often require more treatment sessions than black ink. Some colours, particularly yellow, fluorescent inks and white pigments, can be much more difficult to remove and may only fade rather than disappear completely. White or flesh-toned cosmetic pigments can occasionally darken temporarily after laser treatment due to the ingredients used in the ink.
