Loose skin is caused by an area of skin being stretched and loosing its elasticity over time, which can be extremely frustrating. Ageing is one of the main causes of loose skin, due to natural loss of collagen as we age.

What Causes

Loose Skin

As we age, the connective tissue that supports our bones, cartilage and organs becomes weaker. As this supportive network weakens, so does the skin surrounding theses tissues. Instead of being evenly distributed around the body, fat can instead begin to clump, with gravity doing the rest.

Sun damage and direct exposure to the sun also prematurely ages your skin and zaps collagen, while pregnancy and rapid weight loss can also cause loose skin.

  • Avoid weight gain or rapid weight loss
