Waxing is a professional hair removal treatment that removes hair from the root using warm wax. It provides longer-lasting smoothness compared to shaving and helps reduce regrowth over time.
At Body Perfection Clinic, we offer both hot wax and strip wax to suit different skin types, hair textures, and treatment areas.
Waxing removes unwanted hair from almost any area of the body, including:

Warm wax is applied to the treatment area and adheres to the hair. Once set, the wax is removed quickly, lifting the hair from the root.
Hot wax is ideal for sensitive or intimate areas as it grips the hair without strongly adhering to the skin. Strip wax is typically used for larger areas such as legs and arms for efficient hair removal.
Most clients experience:
• Smooth, hair-free skin
• Slower regrowth compared to shaving
• Softer regrowth over time
• Reduced irritation from daily shaving
Results typically last between 3–6 weeks depending on hair growth cycles.
Your treatment begins with a brief consultation to assess skin type and hair growth.
During the procedure:
• The skin is cleansed
• Wax is applied to the area
• The wax is removed quickly and professionally
• A soothing product is applied to calm the skin
Treatment time varies depending on the area being treated.
Both strip wax and hot wax remove hair from the root to provide longer-lasting smoothness, but they work slightly differently and are suited to different areas of the body.
Strip wax is applied in a thin layer and removed using paper or fabric strips. It adheres to both the hair and the skin, allowing large areas to be treated quickly and efficiently.

Benefits:
Hot wax is applied directly to the skin and allowed to set before being removed without strips. It mainly grips the hair rather than the skin, making it a gentler and more comfortable option for sensitive areas.

Benefits:
Neither wax is better than the other — they simply serve different purposes. At Body Perfection Clinic, we select the most appropriate waxing method based on the area being treated, your hair type and your skin sensitivity to ensure the most comfortable and effective results possible. In many cases, both strip wax and hot wax may be used during the same appointment to achieve the best outcome.
At Body Perfection Clinic, we focus on professional technique, hygiene, and comfort.
We tailor each waxing treatment to your skin sensitivity and hair type, ensuring effective removal while protecting the integrity of your skin. Our goal is smooth results with minimal irritation.

Following your Female Waxing treatment, it is important to care for your skin correctly to minimise irritation, reduce the risk of ingrown hairs and help your skin recover comfortably. It is normal to experience some temporary side effects following treatment, including: * Mild redness. * Slight swelling around the hair follicles. * Tenderness or sensitivity. * A feeling of warmth in the treated area. * Minor pinpoint spots, particularly if this is your first wax or you have coarse hair. These effects are usually mild and settle within 24–48 hours. To protect your skin and support recovery: * Keep the treated area clean and dry. * Avoid touching or scratching the treated skin. * Wear loose, breathable clothing to minimise friction. * Apply a soothing lotion or aloe vera gel if recommended by your practitioner. For the first 24–48 hours: * Avoid hot baths, hot showers, saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs. * Avoid vigorous exercise or activities that cause excessive sweating. * Avoid swimming pools and chlorinated water. * Avoid applying perfumed products, deodorants (if the underarms have been treated), body sprays or heavily fragranced lotions to the treated area. * Avoid intimate activity if you have had a bikini or intimate wax until any tenderness has settled. For the first 3–7 days: * Avoid retinol, retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, salicylic acid and exfoliating products on the treated area. * Do not shave between waxing appointments. * Begin gentle exfoliation after 48–72 hours, using a soft exfoliating mitt or gentle scrub 2–3 times per week to help prevent ingrown hairs. * Continue moisturising the skin daily with a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser. * Avoid further hair removal treatments on the area until your next waxing appointment. Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive to UV exposure. * Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 to exposed treated areas every day. * Avoid direct sun exposure and sunbeds for at least 48 hours after treatment. * Wear protective clothing where possible if spending time outdoors. Protecting your skin from UV exposure helps reduce the risk of irritation and pigmentation changes. Regular waxing weakens the hair over time, helping it grow back finer and softer. To achieve the best results: * Book your waxing appointments every 4–6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. * Avoid shaving between appointments. * Exfoliate gently 2–3 times per week after the initial healing period to help prevent ingrown hairs. * Moisturise your skin daily to keep it healthy and supple. Please contact Body Perfection Clinic if you have any concerns about your healing or experience: * Severe or worsening redness lasting longer than 72 hours. * Excessive swelling or increasing pain. * Blistering. * Persistent skin irritation or delayed healing. * Any unexpected or concerning reaction following your treatment. If you think you have developed an infection (such as increasing redness, excessive heat, pus, discharge or fever), or you feel generally unwell, please seek immediate medical advice from your GP, NHS 111 or your nearest emergency department if your symptoms are severe. Your practitioner will be happy to advise you and arrange a review appointment if required.
