For the first 24–48 hours: Avoid hot baths, hot showers, saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs. Avoid swimming pools and chlorinated water. Avoid vigorous exercise or activities that cause excessive sweating. Avoid direct sun exposure and always protect the treated area with a broad-spectrum SPF 30–50. Between treatments: Do not wax, thread, pluck or use depilatory creams, as these remove the hair follicle required for effective treatment. Shaving is permitted and recommended if hair removal is required between appointments. Avoid exfoliating products, retinol, retinoids, AHAs, BHAs and other active skincare products on the treated area for 3–5 days. Continue to keep the skin moisturised and well hydrated. Laser Hair Reduction works most effectively when treatments are completed at the recommended intervals. To achieve the best results: Attend all scheduled treatment sessions. Protect the treated skin from sun exposure throughout your course of treatment. Apply SPF 30–50 daily, even on cloudy days. Maintain a healthy skincare routine to keep your skin in optimal condition. Recently tanned skin significantly increases the risk of burns and pigmentation changes. Do not wax, thread, pluck, tweeze or use depilatory creams on the treatment area for 4 weeks before treatment, as the hair follicle must remain intact for the laser to be effective. Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment, unless your practitioner advises otherwise. The skin should be clean-shaven, but avoid shaving immediately before treatment if it causes irritation. Avoid using retinol, retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, vitamin C serums and exfoliating products on the treatment area for 5–7 days before treatment. Avoid chemical peels, microneedling or other laser treatments on the treatment area for at least 2 weeks before your appointment. Arrive with clean skin, free from makeup, fake tan, moisturisers, deodorants, perfumes, body oils or lotions on the treatment area. Stay well hydrated before your appointment to support healthy skin function and optimise your treatment. Inform your practitioner if you are taking or have recently taken antibiotics, Roaccutane (Isotretinoin), steroids, photosensitising medications or herbal supplements that may increase your skin's sensitivity to light. Please inform your practitioner of any changes to your medical history, medications, skin conditions, pregnancy status or recent aesthetic treatments before your appointment. If you develop a cold sore, skin infection, sunburn, open wound or irritation within the treatment area before your appointment, please contact the clinic as your treatment may need to be postponed. Treatment is not suitable for clients with: Active cancer or those currently undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy, active shingles, active herpes simplex (cold sores) within the treatment area, active skin infections, pregnancy. Current or recent use of Roaccutane (Isotretinoin), photosensitive medications, history of keloid scarring or abnormal wound healing, suspicious moles or melanoma within the treatment area. Treatment may require a GP letter or medical approval for clients with: Heart disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), hirsutism requiring investigation of underlying causes, liver disease, kidney disease, thyroid hormone deficiency, controlled diabetes, steroid or hormonal therapy, AIDS or immunodeficiency disorders, haemophilia or bleeding disorders. Previous gold injections. Treatment should be avoided over: Burns or grafted skin, areas with active infections, areas affected by herpes simplex, keloid scars, suspicious moles or melanoma. Treatment should be postponed if: there has been recent sun exposure or tanning, the skin is sunburnt, irritated or inflamed, waxing, plucking or threading has been performed recently, there is an active outbreak of cold sores within the treatment area. PCOS and hirsutism may require additional assessment and realistic expectations regarding treatment outcomes. Certain medications may increase photosensitivity and require temporary postponement of treatment.
