Male Waxing does not require a course of treatments. However, regular waxing appointments are recommended to maintain smooth results. Your therapist can advise on the best schedule based on your hair growth cycle.

What Results Will I Get From Male Waxing?

Strip wax is applied in a thin layer and removed with a strip. It is ideal for larger areas such as the legs, arms, chest and back, allowing for quick and efficient hair removal. Hot wax is applied in a thicker layer and removed without a strip once set. It grips the hair more than the skin, making it gentler and better suited to sensitive areas like the underarms and face. Your therapist will choose the most suitable option based on your skin type, hair texture and treatment area.

Results typically last between 3–6 weeks depending on your hair growth cycle. With regular waxing, hair often grows back softer, finer and more sparse over time.

For best results, hair should be approximately 0.5cm long, which is usually around 2–3 weeks of growth. Hair that is too short may not be effectively removed.

Discomfort levels vary depending on the area being treated and individual sensitivity. Most clients describe the sensation as quick and manageable. With regular treatments, waxing often becomes more comfortable.

After waxing, your skin may feel slightly sensitive, warm, or appear mildly red — this is completely normal and usually settles within 24 hours. Avoid touching the treated area unnecessarily and keep it clean to reduce the risk of irritation. For 24–48 hours after your appointment, avoid hot baths or showers, saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools, sunbeds, and direct sun exposure. Refrain from applying perfumed products, deodorant (for underarms), or active skincare such as retinol or exfoliating acids to the treated area. Wear loose-fitting clothing to minimise friction and allow the skin to calm. Gentle exfoliation can be resumed after 3–4 days to help prevent ingrown hairs and maintain smooth results.

For the best results, gently exfoliate the treatment area 24–48 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and help reduce the risk of ingrown hairs. Avoid applying heavy lotions, oils, deodorant or perfumed products on the day of your appointment, as these can interfere with the wax. Please inform your therapist if you are using retinol, acne treatments, or any skin-thinning medications, as this may affect suitability for waxing. If possible, avoid sun exposure or sunbeds for at least 24 hours before your treatment, as recently sun-exposed skin can be more sensitive.

We highly advise against it. You must avoid all heat, friction, and sweat for at least 24 to 48 hours after your appointment. This includes heavy exercise, saunas, hot tubs, and steam rooms. Heat and sweat can irritate the freshly opened hair follicles, leading to redness, bumps, or breakouts. Stick to loose clothing and cool showers immediately after your treatment.

Ingrowing hairs are a results for the hair thinning and not being able to push through the skin.
