Sun-damaged skin happens when the skin's texture and colour changes due to UV exposure. There are many possible symptoms of sun damage, including sun burn, sun spots, solar lentigo, actinic keratosis, actinic cheilitis, cutis rhomboid nuchae, wrinkles, fine lines, pigmentation, poikiloderma of civatte and telangiectasias.
Sun damage is caused by prolonged exposure to UVA and UVB sun rays, after using sun beds or sunbathing with inadequate sun protection.
