Seborrhoeic keratosis is a common, harmless skin growth that typically develops with age. These growths often appear as raised, rough or waxy patches on the skin and can range in colour from light tan to dark brown or black. They may have a "stuck-on" appearance and can vary in size from a few millimetres to several centimetres.
Although seborrhoeic keratoses are benign (non-cancerous) and do not develop into skin cancer, they can sometimes become irritated by clothing, shaving or jewellery, or cause cosmetic concerns due to their appearance.
