Cryotherapy is a safe and effective treatment used to remove a variety of benign skin lesions and imperfections using controlled freezing technology. At Body Perfection Clinic, we use advanced CryoPen® technology, which delivers a precise jet of nitrous oxide to the targeted area, freezing unwanted tissue while minimising disruption to the surrounding skin.
Cryotherapy is a quick, minimally invasive procedure that can be used to treat a wide range of common skin concerns with little downtime and excellent cosmetic results.
Cryotherapy can be used to treat:
All lesions are assessed prior to treatment to ensure suitability.
Cryotherapy works by applying extreme cold directly to the unwanted tissue using the CryoPen® device.
The freezing process:
Over the following days and weeks, the lesion gradually darkens, shrinks or forms a small scab before naturally falling away.
The precision of CryoPen® technology allows accurate treatment while helping to protect the surrounding healthy skin.
Many clients experience significant improvement or complete removal of the treated lesion following healing.
Benefits may include:
Some larger or more stubborn lesions may require additional treatment sessions.
Your appointment begins with a consultation and assessment of the lesion to confirm suitability for treatment.
During the procedure:
Most treatments take only a few minutes, depending on the number and size of lesions being treated.
At Body Perfection Clinic, we use advanced CryoPen® cryotherapy to safely and effectively remove a range of benign skin lesions and imperfections. Every treatment is tailored to the individual, with a focus on precision, safety and achieving the best possible cosmetic outcome.
Our experienced team will assess your skin concerns and provide clear aftercare guidance to support optimal healing and long-lasting results. Treatment costs vary depending on the type, size and number of lesions being treated. A consultation is recommended prior to treatment so we can assess suitability, discuss your treatment options and provide a personalised treatment plan and quotation.

Following your Cryotherapy treatment, it is important to care for the treated area correctly to promote healing, minimise the risk of infection and achieve the best possible results. It is normal to experience some temporary side effects following treatment, including: Mild redness around the treated area. Slight swelling. A stinging or burning sensation for a short time after treatment. Blistering, which may be clear or blood-filled. Scab or crust formation as the area heals. Mild tenderness or sensitivity. These reactions are expected and form part of the normal healing process. The treated area will gradually heal over the following 1–3 weeks, depending on the size and location of the lesion. To protect the treated area and support healing: Keep the area clean and dry for the first 24 hours. If a dressing has been applied, leave it in place for as long as advised by your practitioner. Avoid touching, rubbing or scratching the treated area. Allow any blister or scab to develop naturally. For the first 24–48 hours: Avoid hot baths, hot showers, saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs. Avoid vigorous exercise if the treated area feels uncomfortable. Avoid swimming pools and chlorinated water. Avoid applying makeup, perfumes or fragranced products directly to the treated area unless advised otherwise. Until the area has fully healed: Do not pick, burst or remove blisters or scabs, as this may increase the risk of infection and scarring. If a blister forms and bursts naturally, keep the area clean and cover it with a sterile dressing if necessary. Avoid exfoliating products, retinol, retinoids, AHAs, BHAs and other active skincare products on the treated area. Avoid waxing, threading or other treatments directly over the healing skin. Continue using a gentle cleanser and moisturiser around the treated area if appropriate. Protecting the treated area from UV exposure is essential during the healing process. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 once the skin has fully healed. Avoid direct sun exposure and sunbeds until the area has completely healed. Wear protective clothing or cover the area where possible when outdoors. Failure to protect the healing skin from UV exposure may increase the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Cryotherapy is an effective treatment for a variety of benign skin lesions. Many lesions resolve after one treatment, although larger or more stubborn lesions may require additional sessions. To achieve the best possible outcome: Follow all aftercare advice carefully. Allow the treated area to heal naturally. Protect your skin from excessive sun exposure. Attend any recommended review appointments if advised by your practitioner. Please contact Body Perfection Clinic if you have any concerns about your healing or experience: Severe or worsening redness lasting longer than 72 hours. Excessive swelling or increasing pain. Blistering. Delayed healing. Any unexpected or concerning reaction following your treatment. If you think you have developed an infection (such as increasing redness, excessive heat, pus, discharge or fever), or you feel generally unwell, please seek immediate medical advice from your GP, NHS 111 or your nearest emergency department if your symptoms are severe. Your practitioner will be happy to advise you and arrange a review appointment if required.
