Following your EnerPeel® Pyruvic Acid Peel treatment, it is important to care for your skin correctly to support healing, maximise your results and minimise the risk of irritation or pigmentation changes. It is normal to experience some temporary side effects following treatment, including: * Mild redness. * Tightness or sensitivity. * Dryness. * Light to moderate peeling or flaking over the following 3–7 days. * A feeling similar to mild sunburn. * A brighter, smoother complexion as your skin naturally renews itself. These reactions are expected and form part of your skin's natural renewal process. To protect your skin and support healing: * Use a gentle cleanser and moisturiser recommended by your practitioner. * Keep your skin well hydrated by drinking plenty of water. * Avoid touching, rubbing or scratching the treated area. * Allow any peeling or flaking skin to shed naturally. For the first 24–48 hours: * Avoid direct sun exposure. * Avoid hot baths, hot showers, saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs. * Avoid vigorous exercise or activities that cause excessive sweating. * Avoid swimming pools and chlorinated water. * Avoid applying makeup for 24 hours, or until any redness has settled. For the first 5–7 days: * Do not pick or peel any flaking skin, as this may increase the risk of scarring or pigmentation changes. * Avoid retinol, retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, vitamin C serums, exfoliating acids and facial scrubs. * Continue using a gentle cleanser and moisturiser only. * Avoid waxing, threading, dermaplaning or depilatory creams on the treated area. * Avoid chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatments or IPL until advised by your practitioner. Protecting your skin from UV exposure is essential following an EnerPeel® Pyruvic Acid Peel. * Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 every day, even on cloudy days. * Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours when outdoors. * Avoid direct sun exposure and sunbeds for at least 2 weeks following treatment. * Wear a wide-brimmed hat or other physical sun protection whenever possible. Failure to protect your skin from UV exposure can increase the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). EnerPeel® Pyruvic Acid Peel helps to improve acne, oily and congested skin, enlarged pores, pigmentation, uneven skin texture, fine lines and the early signs of ageing. Results continue to improve as your skin naturally renews itself. To maximise your results: * Attend your recommended course of treatments, usually 3–6 sessions spaced 3–4 weeks apart, depending on your skin concerns. * Apply SPF 30–50 every day. * Follow a personalised homecare routine recommended by your practitioner. * Keep your skin well hydrated and maintain a healthy skincare routine. Please contact Body Perfection Clinic if you have any concerns about your healing or experience: * Severe or worsening redness lasting longer than 72 hours. * Excessive swelling or increasing pain. * Blistering. * Delayed healing. * Any unexpected or concerning reaction following your treatment. If you think you have developed an infection (such as increasing redness, excessive heat, pus, discharge or fever), or you feel generally unwell, please seek immediate medical advice from your GP, NHS 111 or your nearest emergency department if your symptoms are severe. Your practitioner will be happy to advise you and arrange a review appointment if required.

To ensure your EnerPeel® Pyruvic Acid Peel treatment is as safe and effective as possible, please follow the advice below before your appointment. * Avoid direct sun exposure, sunbeds and self-tanning products for at least 2 weeks before your treatment. Recently tanned skin is more susceptible to irritation and pigmentation changes. * Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 every day before your treatment and continue to protect your skin from UV exposure. * Discontinue the use of retinol, retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, vitamin C serums, benzoyl peroxide and exfoliating products for 5–7 days before treatment, unless advised otherwise by your practitioner. * Avoid chemical peels, microneedling, dermaplaning, laser treatments or IPL treatments on the treatment area for at least 2 weeks before your appointment. * Do not wax, thread, use depilatory creams or bleach facial hair on the treatment area for 5–7 days before treatment. * Avoid facial scrubs and mechanical exfoliation for 5 days before your appointment. * Arrive with clean skin, free from makeup, moisturisers, sunscreen, oils and perfume on the treatment area. * Stay well hydrated before your appointment to support healthy skin function and optimise your treatment results. * Inform your practitioner if you are taking or have recently taken Roaccutane (Isotretinoin), antibiotics, steroids, photosensitising medications or topical prescription skincar as these may affect your suitability for treatment. * Please inform your practitioner of any changes to your medical history, allergies, pregnancy status, skin conditions or recent aesthetic treatments before your appointment. * If you have an active cold sore, skin infection, eczema flare-up, dermatitis, sunburn, open wound or irritated skin within the treatment area, please contact the clinic as your treatment may need to be postponed. Treatment is not suitable for clients with: Pregnancy or breastfeeding, active cancer or those currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy, uncontrolled diabetes, autoimmune disorders, blood clotting disorders, immunosuppression, history of keloid scarring or abnormal wound healing. Treatment is not suitable for clients with: Active bacterial, viral or fungal skin infections, active herpes simplex (cold sores), open wounds, cuts or abrasions, active eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis flare-ups, severe or inflamed acne with broken skin, rosacea flare-ups or highly sensitive skin, sunburn or recently tanned skin, recent facial surgery that has not fully healed, suspicious lesions or untreated skin abnormalities within the treatment area. Treatment is not suitable for clients with: Current or recent use of Roaccutane (Isotretinoin), photosensitising medications, recent steroid therapy, known allergies or sensitivities to pyruvic acid or other peel ingredients. Treatment should be postponed if: Botox or dermal fillers have been administered within the previous 2 weeks, chemical peels, microneedling or laser treatments have recently been performed, there has been excessive sun exposure or recent tanning, fake tan has been applied within the previous 2 weeks, there is active inflammation or irritation within the treatment area, the client is feeling unwell or has a fever. Treatment may not be suitable for clients who: Have unrealistic expectations regarding treatment outcomes, show signs consistent with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), are unable or unwilling to follow post-treatment care instructions and strict sun protection.

For your Pyruvic Acid Peel appointment, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and arriving with clean skin free from makeup where possible. A loose-fitting top with a wide neckline or buttons is ideal to allow easy access to the face, neck and décolletage while ensuring maximum comfort during your treatment. Soft, breathable fabrics are recommended, as the skin may feel warm, tight or slightly sensitive following treatment. Avoid high collars, scarves or rough fabrics that may cause friction or irritation during the healing process. Please avoid applying heavy creams, fake tan, perfumes or active skincare products to the treatment area before your appointment unless otherwise advised. Mild dryness, flaking or light peeling may occur as the skin renews itself, so loose clothing is particularly important if the neck or chest is being treated. Your comfort and privacy are always our priority, and disposable headbands, towels and gowns are provided when required to help you relax and enjoy your treatment. Protecting the skin from excessive heat, friction and sun exposure following your peel is essential to support optimal healing and results.

No. Visible peeling is not always an indication of success. Much of the treatment's collagen stimulation and skin remodelling occurs beneath the surface.
