Skin tags are small, soft growths that hang from the surface of the skin on a thin stalk (peduncle). They are usually flesh-coloured or brown and are very common in both men and women, particularly over the age of 50.
They can appear anywhere on the body but are most commonly found on:
Skin tags are completely harmless and typically painless. However, they can catch on clothing or jewellery, which may cause irritation or occasional bleeding.
At Body Perfection Clinic, we remove skin tags using advanced cryotherapy and diathermy treatments designed to safely and effectively remove unwanted lesions with minimal disruption to the surrounding skin.
This treatment is suitable for the removal of:
A consultation is required prior to treatment to confirm suitability and ensure the lesion is benign.
Cryotherapy works by delivering a controlled jet of extreme cold directly to the skin tag using a specialised Freezpen device. The freezing process destroys the targeted tissue, allowing the body to naturally eliminate the skin tag during healing.
Diathermy works by using a fine probe and high-frequency electrical current to generate controlled heat within the tissue. The heat destroys the skin tag while sealing the blood vessels feeding it at the same time. This allows the lesion to shrink, detach or be removed with minimal bleeding and minimal trauma to the surrounding skin.
Both methods are precise, quick and effective for treating superficial skin lesions safely.
Most clients experience:
The treated area may darken slightly or form a small scab or crust during healing before naturally clearing.
Healing time varies depending on the size and location of the lesion.
Your appointment begins with a consultation to assess the skin tag and confirm suitability for treatment.
During the procedure:
The treatment is quick and generally very well tolerated.
For multiple skin tags, we recommend booking a consultation so we can assess and plan your treatment appropriately.
At Body Perfection Clinic, we prioritise safety, precision and comfort. Every skin lesion is carefully assessed before treatment to ensure suitability and achieve the best possible cosmetic outcome.
